How about you, you, you?
Seriously! Today was beautiful zoo weather. We loaded up and got to the zoo by 9:30. Perfect because they opened at 9:00 and we got a parking spot right up front! We made it in and we headed towards the children's area. On the way, we spotted some flamingos and WOW! They were bright ORANGE!

Oh well...on we went. Laela found a little gecko "crawling" around.

It was so fun, because they had little critters made out of metal on these big rocks. Laela thought they were pretty cool because they did not move. Then she explored the slide and tunnels.

Afterwards we moved on to check out the rest of the zoo.

Laela came across a few otters wrestling.

She was very serious and wondered what in the world they were doing! Then we walked around until we came across the reptile/bird center. YUCK! I really do not like small (or big) slimy things. We saw a few crazy hair birds, snakes, lizards, alligators, etc.

It was so funny because Laela tried to give a salamander a drink of her juice! She was so excited to share. :)

Next came the giraffes. Laela loved seeing the giraffes as long as we were far away! She did not want to have anything to do with them up close....
There really were not a ton of animals out, as they were remodeling for spring (one day too early?) However, we still got to see penguins, monkeys and kangaroos too!

We ended up going back to the children's zoo area and it was much more "ALIVE". The barn was open and Laela got to see horses, ducks, sheep, pigs, fish, rabbits, and chickens! She thought she was in heaven!

Then we put her on the horse sadle and she was not sure what to think. She sat up there long enough for us to snap a shot and then she gave us the sign for "all done". I am just glad to know that I have a city girl! (No worries...I took her to the mall to go shopping when we were done at the zoo!) HA!

There were a ton of kids running, jumping and playing so Laela joined the action for a bit.

Okay...naptime was sneaking up on Laela, so we headed to the exit. On the way we spotted a carousel and knew Laela would love it! We bought her a ticket and daddy jumped aboard with her. She chose the giraffe and got buckled on.

Oh man! Laela had a fantastic two minutes on the carousel!
It was another story when Ro had to take her off. YIKES! Let's just say we called her Ismerelda (that is her "other" name).

So...on to the car. What a fabuous, fun day the three of us had at the zoo. We made it out of the parking lot and on to the highway when we turned around to fin
